Community TV Network and Shine On, Chicago are partnering to create a ecological and planet-friendly series of teen produced 2 1/2 minute video segments created to run on local Chicago TV stations. Called “Tips for a Sustainable Planet” these broadcast segments will be designed to educate the general public and our teen producers while promoting “eco-friendly” non-profit organizations and companies who will be part of the series.
High school students will meet after school to learn digital media production and post-production techniques. Once they understand the basics, teen production teams will interview a number of local environmental experts about their tips for sustainable living. After they have explored the topic from a number of different angles and perspectives, they will come back and edit the footage to 2 to 3 minute video segments that has a teen and adult host who will introduce the segment topic and bring it all together at the end.
These interviews will focus on how teens can save energy, think green and help conserve our planet’s resources. Each segment will have a enviro-topic message and be editing into 2-3 “inter-stitchels” that can be offered as programming to local Chicago TV stations, such as WTTW, WYCC, WCIU and CAN TV.
