As of January 1, 2018, stewardship of Hive Chicago will transition from Mozilla to a new local non-profit, the Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX). The Chicago Public Library Foundation with Smart Chicago Collaborative will design comprehensive training that will increase organizational technology aptitude. The initial audience will be Hive Organizations, with plans to expand to general public. Trainings will be provided by Smart Chicago and Cyber Navigators in CPL locations. Participants will gain greater technical understanding of tools for their respective organizations. The project’s outcome is increasing organizational technical aptitude by 40%, which will influence their existing digital learning programs by 25%.

Project Goal:
- Develop a comprehensive technology training curriculum for Hive Member and Affiliate Organizations in collaboration with Hive Chicago Leadership, that can also be adapted for use in teaching to the public including non-profits and small business owners.
- Identify open source technology tools to design training platform on and utilize during training sessions.
- Increase individual and organizational technical aptitude.
- Provide a baseline foundation for technology knowledge across Hive Network.
- Implementation of action plans developed on learned technology tools/applications.
- Train-the-Trainer model for CyberNavigators.
- Potential badging opportunity for Members and association with Hive Member Benefits.
