Since January 1, 2018, stewardship of Hive Chicago has transitioned from Mozilla to a new local non-profit, the Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX). Please visit us at chicagolx/joinus to learn how you and your organization can join our growing community. The Hive is still the Hive.

In addition, come to this meet-up to:

  • Brainstorm and activate solutions to shared challenges.
  • Create next steps for Moonshot challenge areas.

#hivebuzz: Share program or project updates

Click here to learn about how you can Share & Lead discussions or projects at the meetup.

During the meetup anyone can have 60 seconds to announce an event, program or opportunity available to others and then 10-15 minutes to lead small discussion/breakout groups to share more details and information about your update with curious attendees. If you are interested, you’ll need to let us know in advance. Please submit your information via the online form by end of the day, on the Tuesday EOB before the meetup.

Now Accepting Nominations: Hive Chicago Advisory Committee

As you may know, Advisory Committee members participate for an 18 month period and each member represents a moonshot along with their respective organization. Two current Advisory Committee members are soon approaching the end of their terms– Amaris Alanis-Ribiero and Wade will be completing their time with us in February. These two dedicated leaders have been an asset to the committee and will continue being an asset to the network. Thank you for your dedication to connected learning, youth, and the Hive!

We are now accepting nominations to fill vacancies in the following moonshots: Youth Voice and Community Engagement. Take a moment to nominate a great candidate using the handy nomination form.

November Meetup Recap

Nearly 90 people attended the November Meetup to hear an important update on the Hive Chicago Learning Network in 2018 and beyond. The collective Hive Chicago and Hive Chicago Fund teams walked members, allies, and partners through an informative session that outlined the transition of stewardship from Mozilla to the Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX), a new local non-profit dedicated to connected learning and digital equity.

Hive staff and members also recognized the contributions of Kenyatta Forbes and Brenda Hernandez and thanked them for their service to the Hive Chicago Network.

The Hive is still the Hive!  It remains a member-driven network, operating as one program of the new org, CLX. Click here for more details about what’s happening, why, and what’s next.
