Since January 1, 2018, stewardship of Hive Chicago has transitioned from Mozilla to a new local non-profit, the Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX). Please visit us at chicagolx/joinus to learn how you and your organization can join our growing community. The Hive is still the Hive.

Hive Chicago Goals

Hive is a peer learning community for innovation in education.

Our Mission – To create opportunities for teens that advance the promise of the Internet for learning.

Opportunity: The promise of the Internet for education is that learning is connected–it’s interest-driven, peer-to-peer, and relevant.

What we do to seize that opportunity:

  • Hive staff provide supports and incentives to drive improvement through innovation.
  • Collectively we solve shared challenges through intentional collaboration.

  Problems we solve:

  • Access to connected learning is not equitably shared among Chicago teens.
  • More voices are needed to shape the future of learning.
  • The spread, scale and sustainability of innovative models that work requires a networked approach.

Together, members, allies and network leadership reaffirmed our four goals to drive our collective action.

Goal 2: Learning Pathways

Goal 3: Sustained Innovation

Spark and sustain innovation in learning.

Goal 4: Demonstrated Impact

Demonstrate impact of Hive beyond the Network in support of our goals.
